2017…

…has gone ridiculously fast.

I know we aren’t at the end yet but I wanted to check in before the year is up. 2017 has been busy and in the last 3 months more hectic than ever!

This year Alex and I fully settled into our new home. Decorated, renovated a bathroom, bought furnishings, had people over and just fully embraced living in an apartment in the city.

Alex and I welcomed 2017 in Filey, embracing a freezing cold walk on the beach. Not long after carried on with the cold weather and headed for Val Thorens, France. We had our first chalet experience whilst enjoying the slopes, met some amazing people and we will be certainly doing that again!

I guess the highlight for me this year has to be going to Las Vegas. This was a ‘OMG, lets just do it’ trip from my girlfriends and I. And bloody hell aren’t I glad we did it! It doesn’t seem real that we went. I didn’t know how I was going to feel about the trip but the week was a blur with excitement.

I got a cheeky week away in the sun with my lovely Mummy, taking a trip to Spain together for some much needed mother and daughter time.

Alex and I have been on countless days out, walking trips and took several road trips all over the country. We explored the Peak District, Bath and parts of Scotland.

It all got a bit hectic around 3 months ago when I was approached by my managers offering me a temporary promotion. I was over the moon and tried to embrace the change becoming a manager of my team.

Along with this change I have had 6 months unpaid leave from work approved, with effect from the start of January 2018. I bet you are wondering why an earth I haven’t written about this sooner but the truth is I have no idea why I haven’t.

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Take time off; travel, volunteer and live in another country for a significant amount of time. However, I thought writing about it might jinx it. None the less, this is happening very soon but it warrants its own blog post so I will pause talking about it here.

All in all, this year I have met old friends, celebrated birthdays, made new friends and been on weekends away with my family. Looking back at the post I wrote in January, panicking about having no plan, I am glad I didn’t have one. The list is endless of what has happened this year and if that wasn’t enough the last 3 months have been the most exciting/different/nerve racking yet.

So bring on more challenges and change. 2018 I’m ready for ya!

Ness x
