There’s four little hideaways tucked away in the Hampshire countryside, in the Test Valley, outside Stocksbridge. These gorgeous tree houses by Wild Escapes are each unique with a stunning view of the valley and the Black Chalk Vineyard.
We booked ‘The Poppy’, a rustic and upcycled themed cabin. We needed a little get away, that wasn’t miles away, dog friendly and also still work proof for Alex. We stayed there for 2 nights, and it was so lovely, so very peaceful…and I’m dying to go back.
Time moves slow in the woods. Life seems simpler somehow. Time for games, reading, walking and wildlife spotting. Time to think (good and the bad). Collecting wood, making fires and making wholesome dinners out of the local produce provided in our gorgeous welcome hamper.

There was an outdoor bath and shower which was very private with nothing overlooking us. There was a log burner, full kitchen and very comfy king bed. The decor was rustic, reclaimed but yet very premium. This wasn’t glamping, it was home from home but in the trees.

No matter the weather, it feels so nice to sit and watch the world go by, listen to the rain on the roof and the wind through the trees.
There were also plenty of walks from the tree house too. Straight out into the countryside and several footpaths to choose from.

With many country pubs, we were spoiled for choice. But The Mayfly seemed to have the most perfect beer garden right on the River Test. We did a circular walking route stopping at the pub half way around.

We wandered around the gorgeous town of Stocksbridge, noseying in the cute shops and stopping for coffee at Meadow on the main street.
We also went for an early morning communal sauna at the Fallen Willow Sauna. Where you can wild dip/swim in a spring fed lake. This was just around the corner from the treehouses, a 20 minute walk or a 3 minute drive.

I’d love to go back and try a different tree house in the summer to see how the woodland and the landscape changes.
